The ecotechsoft Electricity Report Card

The ecotechsoft Electricity Report Card is based around a sophisticated web enabled electricity meter. Once installed in your main distribution board, “real time” electricity data can be viewed graphically on any web enabled device (such as smart phones, tablets, laptops and desktops). ecotechsoft is using this data to create an Electricity Report Card for your business.

The Report Card provides the following data:

A graph of last month's electricity consumption – this graph is compared to historical data and provides information regarding trending and any abnormalities that need to be investigated.

A histogram of the electricity consumption – provides vital information regarding the load factor of the site and the baseline.

Statistical Analysis - this section of the Report Card contains an analysis of the following electricity identities:

Maximum Demand – to ensure that the demand lies within the value agreed with the Network Service Provider to avoid additional network costs

Total energy consumed – provides data on peak and off-peak electricity consumption that is used to check against the electricity bill to identify false readings and over/under charging

The baseline – providing information of energy consumed when no one is on site. To avoid items being left on when not used.

Energy exported –this row provides a summary of electricity exported to the grid

Status Indicators - this section provides important information for the operator of the site.

It contains an easy to read and understand traffic light system that is attached to all of the items included in the statistical analysis. The traffic light system has the following indicators:

Green – all values are within set parameters

         – no action required

Orange – the value has drifted out of set parameters but not to be alarmed

           - investigate when convenient

Red – the value has shifted significantly from the set parameter

           – immediate action is required

Greenhouse Gas Outcomes  - this section of the Electricity Report Card provides information regarding the CO2 emissions that are associated with the electricity consumption at the site.

If renewable energy is generated at the site, information will be displayed regarding emissions, abatement and the net result

Comments Section - this section of the report card is the place for the energy expert that is responsible for your report card to make short and succinct comments on any issue that has been identified as requiring action

Why have the Report Card?

The cost of electrical energy is increasing over time, there are no signals in the market that would suggest for this trend to abate.

With decades of analysing data, ecotechsoft can demmonstrate that the majority of commercial and industrial businesses waste between 20 and 40% of their annual electricity consumption.

This does have a negative impact on the bottom line!!

The Electricity Report Card  continuously monitors the “real time” electricity consumption of your business and you will receive an alarm by email if any of  the agreed parameters are exceeded 24 hours a day every day. This continuous monitoring and verification process together with the monthly Report Card that is sent to your designated contact by email ensures that your business is maximising your costly electricity use.

What is included in the standard ecotechsoft Electricity Report Card?

The following items are included in the standard installation:

1  x  Electronic Web Enabled electricity meter (accuracy +/-1%  from 120 to 10% of rated current)

3 x  Current Transformers up to 4,800 A per phase (connected around the consumers mains conductors)

1 x 3 phase din mounted circuit breaker 10 A (for the voltage taps of the meter)

1 x power line modem including a 2m fly lead for connection to the LAN

Installation and commissioning

12 x monthly Electricity Report Cards  sent as a PDF to the designated contact person by the 5th of every month.

Real time alert service that sends an email to the designated email contact if a failure is detected.

The following items are not included:

Any additional work that needs to be done connecting the meter to the LAN such as

working with the IT department

if the distance from the meter to the LAN connection point exceeds 300m

The meter is capable of monitoring up to 4 three phase circuits. The standard installation only monitors the mains supply. Any additional circuit is charged extra

Any travelling and accommodation outside 2 hours of travelling by car from the Adelaide CBD

What does it Cost?

Standard Installation:  $4,300 (this includes the first 12 months of Electricity Report Cards)

Subsequent annual subscriptions: $1,500

Additional bill checking service: $50 per month (a report on the accuracy of your electricity bill will be sent to you within 10 days of receiving your bill)

What are the benefits?

A service such as the Electricity Report Card will save your business in the order of 10% of your electricity bill. So if your bill is $100,000 per year, you can expect to reduce that bill by $10,000 every year

The Electricity Report Card has an annual payback of less than 6 months in the first year reducing to less than 2 months in any subsequent years
